Heroin/Opiate
Addiction Treatment Program (Other Forms: Opium, Codeine,
Morphine, OxyContin, Vicodin, Loratab, Diludid, Percodan, Methadone,
Darvon, Demerol, Talwin, Laam and others.)
What is
Heroin and why is it so dangerous?
If you or
a loved one is addicted to heroin, you understand the obstacles
that it prevents to having a fulfilling life. Heroin is widely
considered to be the most addictive drug there is. Heroin abuse
is more wide spread than all the other opiate drugs combined..
Heroin is
extracted from the seed of poppy plants, and is processed from
morphine. Typically heroin is a white powder or more commonly
these days "black tar" heroin is becoming more common.
The high purity of today's heroin makes it extremely addictive
as well as opening the door for addiction that can happen in a
very short time frame..
How can
we help heroin addicts?
10 years
ago heroin was not nearly as potent as it is today. Over the last
decade drug suppliers have realized they can get more customers
if the heroin is more potent. Because of this potent heroin, people
do not realize they are becoming addicted so quickly. When they
decide they better slow down on using heroin, they realize that
they are in too far and suffer painful withdrawals.
Opiate/heroin
addiction withdrawals are known to be the most intense and aggressive
withdrawal symptoms of all the drug family. Because of the high
discomfort associated with a heroin addict trying to get clean
www.executive-recovery.com has spent many man hours and researching
dollars on how to get a heroin addict through the withdrawal process
as painlessly as possible.
Over the last
decade there has been many advances in medicine which allow the
opportunity for a heroin addict to get clean with as little discomfort
as possible. Here at www.executive-recovery.com we have several
methods for easing the pain of withdrawal and getting the addict
clean as soon as possible.
One of the
great advances in heroin addiction is due to a drug known as buprenorphine
or the brand name Suboxone. These drugs are known as anti-opioids.
What they do is fill up the opiate receptors in an addicts
brain and take away the addicts craving for opiates/heroin.
Suboxone
also have the chemical in it known as Naloxene this chemical will
prevent an opiate addict from using opioids and getting high.
If an addict was to use opiates while taking Suboxone the Naloxene
will prevent the user from getting high or feeling pleasurable
effects. This is a powerful tool as addicts know even if they
were to use heroin or other opiates, they would not receive the
pleasurable feeling that they associate with the drug.
We feel Suboxone
is a much greater alternative than methadone and also has a much
higher rate of keeping addicts clean then does methadone. When
an addict decides it is time to stop taking Suboxone this can
be done in a way with little or no withdrawal symptoms.
The other
great advantage of Suboxone is the drug is allowed to be administered
by a private doctor. You can now deal with your opiate addiction
and not have to go to a clinic every day to get your medication
that helps you stay clean. In many cases after detox and all withdrawal
symptoms are gone the patient is allowed to take his Suboxone
pills home and have access to his recovery medication at any time.
